- "GASOLINE BLAST TAKES LIFE OF MATRON"
"Mrs. Retta Neukam, mother of seven children,
died in a Twin Falls, Idaho, hospital Tuesday night from burns received in a gasoline explosion
at her home in Jarbidge, according to an Associated Press dispatch.
Mrs. Neukam was cleaning a suit of clothes with gasoline when the
liquid exploded and set fire to the house. The fire was quickly extinguished, but
Mrs. Neukam was showered with the flaming gasoline. She was rushed to Twin Falls
for treatment but died a few hours later.
She was forty-five years old. Surviving are her husband and
seven children."

"TWIN FALLS, Ida., April 24 —
(U.P.) — Funeral services will be held tomorrow for
Mrs. Retta Neukam, Jarbridge, Nev., who died in a Twin Falls hospital of burns
suffered when cleaning fluid exploded.
Mrs. Neukam had been cleaning clothes in the gasoline when
it exploded, setting fire to her home in the Nevada mining community."

"Charged with driving at excessive speed on Arlington avenue, a youth
booked as Buster Edward Neukam was arrested by police last
night. He will face a police court hearing Friday. Police said it was not
Neukam's first offense."

"One of the largest groups of selectees ever to leave Washoe county will
depart from Reno next week for induction into the armed forces, it was announced today with
the releasing of the names of registrants scheduled to enter active duty with the armed
forces by the two Washoe county draft board[s].
