In Memoriam The following memorial was written by Mr. Weber, in memory of Flight Officer Jack L. Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Miller, who lost his life in the war: "Jack Miller was an attendant of the congregation and Christian fellowship of our Church, on several occasions when he worshipped with us before going overseas. He also spoke to our young people's meeting on several occasions. We learned to respect him and his Christian faith, and we believe that during his term of service in the forces of the United States, in the present war, he gave a full and devoted service to every responsibility which was his. We like to remember his clean-cut appearance and his friendly smile and his willingness to share with us the experiences of his training period. We recall expecially when he told us about flying at very high altitude. He realized that there was no one up there to help him, no one to support him in any plan he tried to work out except God. We recall how, as Jack spoke of these things, it seemed there was a very serious note aroused in all our hearts as he recalled with him the feeling which he had as he flew high in the sky in his own plane. The friends of Jack Miller in the Alhambra Presbyterian Church join with other friends, in expressing our sincerest sympathies and good wishes to his family. Milton Silas Weber |
