June Johnson Bishop, 85, of Rigby, Idaho died Thursday, August 18, 2005 in Rigby.

June Johnson Bishop June was born June 5, 1920 in Preston, Idaho the daughter of Floyd and Clara Kern Johnson.  She attended schools in Panocha, Nevada, Preston, Idaho and graduated from Rigby High School.  She attended the University of Idaho at Pocatello and Utah State Agriculture College in Logan, Utah.  She married Hon Bishop on June 6, 1941 in Logan, Utah at the Logan LDS Temple.  They have been married for 65 years.  She worked along side her husband in the family business, Bishop Cabinet Shop.  She was a member of Rigby Study Club and had served as president, and also as the District President with the National Federation of Women’s Clubs.  She was a member of the Rigby Art Guild.  June was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She served in numerous ward and stake positions, and as a temple officiator for eleven years.  She loved and was loved by her family, and enjoyed quilting and handwork.

June is survived by her husband, Hon Bishop of Rigby; four daughters, Marilyn (Conroy) Whipple of Salt Lake City, Utah, Leann (Larry) Stephens, Clare Sleight, and Kay Bishop all of Rigby; two sons, Wayne (Roma) Bishop of Pleasanton, California, and Earl (Kim) Bishop of Rigby; two sisters, Lucile Yearke of Rigby and Sharon (Marlon) Rowan of Anacortes, Washington; 25 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

June was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Clara Johnson, and two brothers, Floyd K and Max R Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at the Rigby Stake Center with Bishop Earl Bishop conducting.  The family will visit with friends on Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and prior to the services on Tuesday at the Stake Center from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.  Burial will follow the services at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
