Obituary

Rex Larsen
      Rex A. Larsen, 67, of Salt Lake City, died Monday, Jan 30, 1984 at his home.
      He was born Feb. 28, 1916, in Fairview, to Henry and Mary Hortense Allred Larsen.  He married Elma Anderson in 1937 and she died in 1939.  He married Leola Felix of Springville, July 30, 1941, in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
      He attended Snow College and graduated from Utah State University with a degree in geology.  He received his teaching certificate from Brigham Young University in 1939.
      He was a school teacher and principal in Springville.  He was a service manager for General Electric for 10 years; was a licensed electrician, contractor/builder, and realator.  He was employed as a Utah State area engineer for 18 years, retiring in June 1981.
      He was a member of the LDS Church serving as a High Priest in the Holladay 23rd Ward.  He had served as a scoutmaster, counselor in the Elder's Quorum presidency, home teacher, choir member and ward employment specialist.
      Survivors include his wife of Salt Lake City; two sisters:  Mrs. Rex (Loy) Hafen of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Robert (Janice) Fowler; three sons:  Larry R. Larsen, John S. Larsen and Jerry W. Larsen, all of Salt Lake City; two daughters:  Mrs. Thomas E. (Cheryl) Lyon of Provo; Mrs. Robert E. (Kathryn) Field of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; 23 grandchildren.
      Services will be Friday at noon in the Olympic Stake Center, 2700 E. 4500 S., Salt Lake City.  Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 240 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, and at the church one hour prior to services.  Burial will be in the Larkin Sunset Gardens.
