Notes: According to family sources, Rex A. Larsen was born 28 Feb 1916
in Fairview, Sanpete, Utah. He was the oldest child of Lawrence Henry
Larsen and Mary Hortense Allred. Elma Anderson was born 4 Jul 1916 in Mona, Juab,
Utah. Her parents were Archibald Henry Anderson and Eleanor S. Shephard.
Rex A. Larsen, 21, married Elma Anderson, 21, on 22 Sep 1937 in the Manti L.D.S.
Temple, Manti, Sanpete, Utah. They had a daughter, Cheryl. The couple
lived in Provo and Logan, Utah during their short marriage.
Elma died 24 Jun 1939 in a Salt Lake City hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah. Cause of death
was septicemia following the birth of their daughter. Funeral services were held 27 Jun 1937
in the Mt. Pleasant South ward L.D.S. chapel. She was buried in the Mount Pleasant
City Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Sanpete, Utah.
In the 1940 U.S. census, Rex A. Larson,24, was a boarder in the residence of William A. and Mary
Thomas, in Goshen, Utah, Utah. He was a school teacher in the public schools. His
daughter Cheryl was living with her maternal grandparents, Archibald and Eleanor Anderson.
A.H. Anderson, 62, and Elner Anderson, 51, were living at 513 South 2nd West, Mount Pleasant,
Sanpete, Utah. They owned their home valued at $5,000. Archibald was the principal of
the Mt. Pleasant L.D.S. seminary. Their household included two sons, T. Ralph, 19,
and Keith E., 15, and grandaughter Cheryl Elma, 10 months.
