DEATH:  Benjamin H. Robison
Benjamin H. Robison, age 82, died Thursday, May 28, 1998 at his home in St. George.

He was born November 20, 1915, in Hinckley, Utah to George Albert and Laura Barbara Walker Robison.  He married Manon Hawley September 8, 1939 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.  Ben graduated from Hinckley High School and earned a Masters Degree in Political Science from Utah State University.  He taught Political Science and American History at Delta High School and has worked as a farmer and livestock man for 40 years.  He served in the United States Marine Corps in World War II and is a member of the American Legion.  He has lived in Sutherland, Utah, San Diego, California, and in Salt Lake City and St. George, Utah.  The ultimate optimist, he loved life, family, friends and the Gospel.

An active member of the LDS Church, Ben served a mission to the Western States from 1935-1937.  He also was a Bishop and a counselor in a Stake Presidency.  He served as a temple worker for over 15 years in both the Jordan River and St. George Temples.  He served as Director of the New Zealand Visitors Center with his wife.  He has served as Lion's Club President and as a Millard County Commissioner, and numerous other positions in the Church and community.

Surviving family members include his wife, Manon of St. George, Utah; two daughters and two sons:  Pamela (Ellis) Hamblin, St. George, UT; Patti (John) Thomson, Salt Lake City, UT; Gary (Patty) Robison, Mesa, AZ; Scott (Marilu) Robison, Sutherland, UT; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters:  Frank Robison, Clair Robison, Ruth Allsop and Barbara Ungricht.  Preceded in death by one son, Benjamin Hal Robison; great-grandson, Michael Hamblin; two brothers, Alden and Almon and two sisters, Leah and Nella.

Funeral service will be held Monday June 1, 1998 at 1 p.m. at the Sutherland, Utah LDS Chapel.  Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 300 West St. George Blvd. and on Monday from 11 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel prior to service.  Interment in the Sutherland Cemetery under the direction of the Metcalf Mortuary of St. George and the Nickle Mortuary of Delta.
