Obituary: Barbara Robison Ungricht
Barbara Robison Ungricht
1929 ~ 2007
Barbara Robison Ungricht, 78, a dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend
slipped away early Friday morning, November 23, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Surrounded by her children,
she passed through the veil after a 25-year battle with Parkinson's disease. Barbara was born March 25, 1929
in Hinckley, Utah to George Albert Robison and Laura Barbara Walker.
Barbara loved living on the farm in Hinckley and always considered herself a farm girl. The family moved
to Salt Lake City when Barbara was 12. Barbara graduated as valedictorian of her South High class in
1947. She attended the University of Utah and graduated with a dietetics degree in 1951. While doing
her dietetic internship in Oakland, California, she met Herbert Pyne Ungricht.
They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on July 23, 1952, and were sweethearts throughout their married life.
Barbara was always a devoted wife, assisting Herb in his medical practice and supporting him at church and home.
Together they raised six children. Barbara was always a wonderful mother and nurtured her children with love
and understanding. Her favorite place to be was at home with her children and husband.
Barbara was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony of the
gospel of Jesus Christ was manifest by the patient and sweet way she treated all those with whom she came in
contact, even in the difficult last years of her life. Barbara served faithfully in many positions in the
church, including Ward Organist, and many positions in the Primary and Relief Society. Barbara's favorite
calling was serving on the Church Writing Committee for the Family Home Evening Resource Manual. She
dedicated countless hours for the completion of the manual and was grateful for the opportunity of serving in
that capacity.
Barbara is survived by five children; Lillie (Richard) Christiansen, Albert Lon (Yvette), Elizabeth (Craig)
VanLeeuwen, Susannah (Troy) DeMill, and Benjamin Robison (Margie), a daughter-in-law Yvonne, two brothers,
Francis W. Robison and Clair A. Robison, 28 grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, three brothers,
husband Herbert Pyne, and a son Herbert John.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at the Murray Care Center for lovingly caring for our mother
for the last three years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the East Millcreek Stake Center,
