Notes: Frank, with his wife Dora, owned and lived in this residence for over two
decades. The house had three bedrooms, one bath, a total of 1,374
square feet, and was built in 1905. Frank and Dora probably moved
in right after it was built.
By 1920 the house was free of mortgage, sons Guy and Ira had moved out, and two
roomers rented rooms here. During the 1920s the City of Napa changed
the house number from 104 to 1406 B Street. Frank died here in 1928.
After living for awhile in Red Bluff and possibly
in Vallejo, Ira returned by 1930 as the head of this
household and the new owner of this residence — which was then valued at
$5,000.00. At that time he was divorced from his first wife and lived here
with his mother, Dora.
In 1942 Dora still resided here while Ira had moved on to 1418 B Street.
The photograph shows the 1406 B Street house in its October 2008
condition with Halloween decorations. |
