Notes: In 1873 Thomas Hancock, Hugh Nickels, and their two families left their homes in
Devon, England, boarded the 1340-ton steamship Arragon, and headed for the New
World. After landing in New York they made their way to Canada and
soon settled in Lambton County, Ontario.
