Notes:  *The surname Schilego comes from Sources 1296 and 1305; however, the name may have been misspelled in those sources.  In the birth records for four of Basilia's children (Source 848), Basilia's maiden name was recorded as Siligo, Sceligo, Sciligo, and Silago.  In the death records of three of her children (Source 861), Basilia's maiden name was recorded as Sciligo, Siligo, and Siligio. In 1979 Basilia's son Bill went on a trip to Italy with his wife Billie, took photos there, and wrote on the back of one photo the house my mother was born in.  On the back of some of his other photos was written Fondovalle and Domodossola.  Bill also had a small article from a Clearlake newspaper that said they had visited cousins in Fondovalle in the northern part of Italy in the valley of Formazza. **Based upon the above, Basilia was almost certainly born in the Italian Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in the Piedmont region of Italy.  Within that Province she was probably born either in the municipality of Formazza and its village Fondovalle, or in the municipality of Domodossola.  However, since Brasilia's parents were reportedly both born Formazza it is almost certain that she was also. Per the 1900 U.S. Census Basilia immigrated to the U.S. in 1893 and married that same year.  Her husband Joe's surname was Garbode.  After her marriage to him her surname was Garbode until 1900 or soon thereafter.  Source 84 shows that by 1908 she used the Imboden surname from then on.  Basilia probably remained an alien until naturalized between 1930 and 1940.
