Notes: Agnes was born about 1748, to John and Joan Carter during the reign of King George II. She was baptised in the St. James Church, Ashreigney, Devon, England on 24 May 1748.

Marriage Banns were posted 11 Aug 1771, and Agnes married Robert Hancock on 30 Sep 1771 in St. James Church, Ashreigney, Devon. Beginning in 1772 through 1785, their eight children were all baptised in this church. Her husband was a yeoman, or a man holding and cultivating a small landed estate; a freeholder.

Robert died about 13 Jun 1808, and Agnes was the Executrix for his estate. It was valued at £600 on 20 Aug 1808, £400 of which was divided between their five daughters and the residue left to Agnes. Their sons were not named in the will.

Agnes, 66, died about 2 Sep 1814, during the reign of George III, while residing at Good Cot farm, Ashreigney, Devon. Her son John was Executor of her estate. She was buried 4 Sept 1814 alongside her husband in the St. James Churchyard, Ashreigney, Devon, England.
