Notes: William Buck Long, born in Kentucky, and Timandra J. Lewis, born in Missouri, were married before
1860. In the 1860 US census, William, 34 and Timandra, 16, were living in Vacaville, Solano,
California. They were living in the household of Thomas J. and Isabell Janes,
and their two children. William and Timandra had a 1 month old unnamed infant, who does
not appear elsewhere. William was a farmer, worth $6,000. Also in the household was
G.W. Long, 21, a farmer worth $3,500. In the 1870 US census, William B. Long, 44, and his wife "Louisa", 27, were still farming in Vacaville. His personal value was $5,000, and real estate, $36,000. Their children were Nina (Minnie), 8, Nora, 6, and George, 4. In the 1880 US census, W. Buck Long, 54, and his wife Tomandra, 38, were still in Vacaville, and William was listed as a trader. The children were Minnie, 18, Norah, 16, George, 14, working on the farm, and Sallie, 8. Tomandra's mother, Tomandra Lewis, 72, was living with them. William's wife Tomandra died in 1895. In the 1900 US census, William B. Long, 74, was still farming in Vacaville. the children at home were Minnie, 38, and Sallie, 28. also in the household were Jesse C. Lewis, 55, his brother-in-law doing farm labor, and four farm employees. William is listed in the Vacaville, Solano voter list in 1900 - 1916. William died in 1903, and is buried in Vacaville, Solano, California. | ||||||||||||||||||||
