Register, Napa, California, 12 Nov 1995, page 23, col. 3. WARREN "BUD" SAMUEL HANCOCK, 80, died peacefully in his home in Hapa on Nov. 10, 1995. Mr. Hancock was born May 18, 1918 in Calistoga to Wilfred and Nora Hancock. He graduated from Napa High School on June 16, 1933. He was predeceased by his wife Viola "Vi" Mae Samuels and two grandchildren, Richard B. and Katharine A. Hancock. During their marriage, "Bud" and "Vi" traveled the world extensively. He was supervisor for the Napa Fruit Co. for 25 years and during WWII he helped build submarines at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. "Bud" was also a lifelong member of the Native Sons of the Golden West. He is survived by children Daniel W. Hancock of Culver City, Charlene Laughridge of Napa, Butch Mount of Mesa, AZ, and Patricia J. Hickey of Napa, sisters, Leola Martin of Vallejo, Bee Lacaze of Napa, and Ruth Gattavara of Suisun, nine grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, Nov. 13, 1995, 1 p.m. at Treadway & Wigger Funeral Chapel, 623 Coombs St. The Reverend Hank Hobbs, Napa Valley Baptist Church, will officiate. Private burial will take place at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Sunday (today) evening between 2 and 8 p.m. Note: The obituary contains two errors: The year of Warren's birth is 1915 and the surname of his wife is Lair. | ||||
