A complete surprise to their many friends in both Napa and Vallejo is the wedding of Miss Leola Hancock of this city to Mr. Otto Martin, Jr., of Vallejo, which was solemnized last evening. The couple slipped away late yesterday afternoon and were quietly married at the Presbyterian parsonage in Santa Rosa at 8:00 o'clock. They were unattended by relatives and friends. The bride wore a suit of blue wool trimmed with a brown fox collar. Her accessories of hat, shoes, purse and gloves were in brown. Immediately following the ceremony, the newlyweds departed for a honeymoon trip to be spent in the south. They are expected home during the early part of next week. The close families of the pair were the only ones informed of the wedding plans, and although friends knew the event was to be in the near future, a definite date had not been announced. Mrs. Martin is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hancock of this city. She is popularly known to many friends in this community and is a graduate of the Napa Union High School. She announced her engagement several months ago at an attractive evening affair. Mr. Martin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto J. Martin of Vallejo. He has spent his entire life in that city and he graduated from the Vallejo High Sschool. He is now employed as a machinist on Mare Island. The newlyweds have prepared an attractive apartment in Vallejo where they will make their future home. They expect to occupy it next week, and they will be happy to receive their friends there. | ||||
