Dora Samples
      Dora Lee Samples, 46, member of a well known Napa family, died here Saturday after a long illness.
      Mrs. Samples, who made her home at the Senate Hotel with her husband Max, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Whitthorne of Dutra road.
      She was born in Virginia, and came to Vallejo with her parents when she was two weeks old.  The family moved to Napa in 1922 and Mrs. Samples graduated from Napa High School and later attended the Fabiola School of Nursing.  She worked as a nurses aide for many years at Parks Victory Hospital and Queen of the Valley Hospital.
      Mrs. Samples was a member of Ivy Rebekas Lodge No. 23.
      In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two sons, David Locatell of Chester, Calif., and Frank Locatell of Napa; a daughter, Candace Samples of Napa; a brother Robert C. Whitthorne Jr. of Napa; and two sisters, Mrs. Morris Wilson of Japan and Mrs. Kenneth Laubham of Fresno.  Six grandchildren also survive.
