Notes: In the 1880 U.S. census, Frank C. Walker, 44, born in Prussia, and his wife Elizabeth Walker,
28, born in Switzerland, were living in Spring Valley, Lincoln, Nevada. Frank was a farmer and Elizabeth
was keeping house. They had five children, namely Frank C., 9, Wilhelmina, 6, George, H., 4, Anna, 2,
and Joseph, 1 month. One child, Mary Elizabeth, born in 1872, had died as an infant. The census
record states that all the children were born in Nevada, although the oldest, Frank, had been born in Utah.
Elizabeth's sister Barbara Staheli, 18, born in Utah, was listed as a servant in the
household. Four additional children were born in Spring Valley. These were Emma, Lemira, Laura, and
Clara May. |
