Notes: According to family sources, Thomas Richardson Greener was born 13 Jan 1868 in Ephraim,
Sanpete, Utah. His parents were Thomas Richardson Greener and Mary Reay. Lucinda Jane
Peterson was born 29 January 1872 in Beaver, Beaver, Utah Territory. Thomas Richardson Greener, 20,
married Lucinda Jane Peterson, 16, on 27 Oct 1888 in Joseph, Sevier, Utah. They had a family of five
children. Their first child Permelia Almira was born in 1889 in Joseph, Sevier, Utah. John Thomas was born in 1892 in Kanosh, Millard, Utah. Mary Ann was born in 1894 and James Afton in 1898, both in Hinckley, Millard, Utah. In the 1900 U.S. census, Thomas R. Greener, 33, and his wife Lucinda Greener, 28, were living in Hinckley, Millard, Utah. Thomas was a farmer, and owned his farm. Their children were Permelia, 10, and John T., 8, both attending school; and Mary H., 5, and James H., 2. Mary Ann died in 1901, and Alvin Realy was born in 1905 in Hinckley. In the 1910 U.S. census, Thomas R. Greener, 42, and his wife Lucinda J. Greener, 38, were again enumerated in Hinckley, Millard, Utah. Thomas was a general farmer, on his own farm. Lucinda had had five children, only four of them now living. The children at home were John T., 17, doing labor on the home farm, James A., 12, and Alvan R., 5. John and James attended school. Also in the household was Charles Greener, 25, a brother, a laborer doing odd jobs. In the 1920 U.S. census, Thomas Greener, 51, and his wife Lucinda Greener, 47, were still living in Hinckley, Millard, Utah. Thomas was still farming, but they were now renting. Their only child at home was Ray, 15, attending school. The Provo, Utah, City Directory, 1924 in the section titled "Farmers' and Landowners' Directory" listed Thos R. Greener as the owner of 24 acres, valued at $3,300. In the 1930 U.S. census, Thomas R. Greener, 62, and his wife Lucinda J. Greener, 58, were living at 601 South 4th East, Springville, Utah, Utah. They owned their farm, did not have a radio set, and Thomas was doing general farming on his own account. In the 1940, U.S. census, Thomas R. Greener, 72, and his wife, Lucinda J. Greener, 68, were living at 601 E. 7th South, Springville, Utah, Utah. They owned their farm, valued at $2,500. Thomas was a poultry farmer, and had completed first grade. Lucinda had completed third grade. Newspaper articles noted the celebrations of their 50th, 53rd, and 57th years of marriage, and reported on their life journey. Thomas took a prominent part in the industrial development of Hinckley and was a successful farmer and stockman. During his early life he filled an L.D.S. mission in the northwestern states. He served in the Springville First L.D.S. ward bishopric from 1920 to 1924, assisting with construction of the ward chapel. Lucinda served as an executive officer and a teacher in the Hinckley and Springville First wards. Lucinda Jane Peterson Greener died 3 Jul 1946 at the age of 74 at the Utah Valley Hospital, Provo, Utah. Her residence at time of death was 502 South 4th East, Springville. Cause of death was a cerebral hemorrhage with paralysis of left arm and leg and throat. She was buried 6 Jul 1946 in the Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah, Utah. Thomas Richardson Greener died 23 Jan 1950 at the age of 82 at 689 South 4th East, Springville, his residence. Cause of death was bronchial pneumonia, due to arteriosclerotic heart disease.
