Notes:  Evelena Jacobus, the daughter of Henry and Phebe Jacobus, was born 27 Oct 1842, in Pine Brook, Morris, New Jersey.  In the 1860 U.S. census, she was living with her mother, Phebe A. Jacobus, sister Ann L., and brother Wilson, in Caldwell.  Both she and her mother were seamstress'.

In 1868, Evelena married Daniel Webster Baldwin in Centerville, Livingston, New Jersey.  In the 1870 U.S. census, Evelena and Daniel were living with his parents in Caldwell.  Also in the same household were Daniel's sister Harriet, her husband James Jacobus, and their infant daughter, Ida.  Daniel was listed as a carpenter, and Evelena was now listed as having no occupation.

In April 1872, Edward James their first son was born, and in August 1875, George Leslie was born.  In the 1880 U.S. census, the family was living by themselves in Caldwell.  Sometime after 1890, Evelena and George moved to Cedar Grove, Verona Township, Essex.  In the 1900 U.S. census, they were living with their grandson, Wilfred Leslie Baldwin, the son of George Leslie.  They returned to Caldwell in 1901.

In the 1910 U.S. census, taken in April, Evelena, George, and Wilfred were living in Caldwell.  Daniel died in May 1910.  Following his death, Evelena moved to Perth Amboy, Middlesex, New Jersey.  When she applied for his pension as a widow on 28 Jun 1910 her address was 228 Rector Street, Perth Amboy.  This was her address in the 1917 through 1920 Perth Amboy Directories.

Evelena died 29 Feb 1920 in Perth Amboy.  She is buried with her husband in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Essex, New Jersey.
