Notes: Daniel and Evelena were married by William Gore, pastor of the M.P.
Church of Livingston, in Centerville, Essex, New Jersey, on 21
Nov 1868. They were married in the church parsonage.
In the 1870 U.S. census, Daniel and Evelena were living with his parents,
George and Deborach Baldwin in Caldwell, Essex, New Jersey. Also living in the
home was Daniel's sister Harriet, her husband, James Jacobus, and infant daughter,
Ida. In April 1872, their first son, Edward James Baldwin, was born,
presumably in Caldwell. In August 1875, a second son, George Leslie, was born
in Caldwell. The family was living in their own home by the 1880 U.S. census,
in Caldwell.
In the 1900 U.S. census, Daniel and Evelena were living in the Verona Township, Essex,
New Jersey. Living with them was their grandson, Wilfred Leslie Baldwin,
the son of George Leslie. They returned to Caldwell in December 1901,
and were found there in the 1910 U.S. census, with their grandson Wilfred.
Daniel died the 15 May 1910, in Caldwell, at the age of 63 years, 9 months.
He is buried in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Essex,
New Jersey. Evelena, and presumably Wilfred, moved to Perth Amboy, Middlesex, New
Jersey. On June 28, 1910, when she applied for Daniel's pension as a widow, her
address was 228 Rector Street, Perth Amboy. Evelena died 29 Feb 1920, at the age of
77 years, 4 months in Perth Amboy. She is buried next to her husband in the
Prospect Hill Cemetery. |
