Notes:  Georgina Force Thornicroft* was born 2 Jul 1884 in Plympton Twp., Lampton, Ontario.  Her parents were Matthew Henry Thornicroft and Annie Dewar.  In the 1901 Canada census, she was living in Warwick Twp., Lampton, with her parents and younger siblings, Matthew, John, and Janet.  Her father was a farmer.  The family is next found in Saskatchewan.  Her mother Annie died in Aug 1909, and is buried in the Lake City Cemetery, Imperial District.  Her father died 29 Jul 1938, and is buried with his wife.

According to family records, Georgina married James Gavin Detwiller on 20 Sep 1911, in the Presbyterian Church, Imperial, Saskatchewan.  In the 1916 Saskatchewan census, James and Georgina were living at Wood Creek, Last Mountain, Saskatchewan.  They had a daughter Elizabeth, age eight months.  James was farming.

In the 1921 Canada census, James, age 45, and Georgina, 37, are farming their homestead.  Their daughter Elizabeth is 5 years old.  James Needham, 74, is living with the family, working on the farm.

In 1935, 1938, 1940 and 1945, Georgina is listed in the Canada Voter List in the Lake Centre district as Mrs. Gavin J. Detwiller.  In 1949, the couple retired from farming and moved into the village of Imperial.  Later they moved back to Ontario to be live near their daughter.  James died in 1955.  Georgina died 8 Jun 1971.  Both are buried in the Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatmam, Kent County, Ontario.

*Georgina's surname is spelled Thornicroft in both her birth record and the 1901 Canadian census record.  The family records spell it Thorncroft, without the "i", and Thorncroft is the spelling on her parents headstones in Lake City Cemetery.
