Notes: Joseph F. Zimprich was born 13 Apr 1929 in Cooperstown, Griggs, North Dakota. He
was the fifth child of Joseph J. Zimprich Sr. and Anna M. Fiebiger. In the 1930 U.S.
census, the family was living in Lenora Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. His father Joseph J.
Sr. was a farmer. His siblings included Rozella A., 7, Mary J., 5, Joyce E., 4, and Anne M.,
2. Joseph F. was 11 months. John Jess, 45, a farm worker lived with the family. In the 1940 U.S. census, the Zimprich family was still farming in Lenora Twp. His siblings were Rozella, 17, Mary Jane, 15, Joyce, 14, Anne, 12, and Edward, 9. Joe was 11. Alfred Koth, 22, a farm worker lived with the family. Joseph grew up and attended country school in Lenora Township, rural Aneta. Joseph married Mary Lou Arlien on 25 Jun 1953 in Tolna, Nelson, North Dakota. The couple had one son. Mary Lou died 6 Nov 1957, at the age of 22. Joseph married Catherine Eileen (Detwiller) Walen on 2 Jul 1958 in Cooperstown, Griggs, North Dakota. She was a widow with three children. Joseph adopted her three children, and they had three additional children together. They made their home on a farm near Aneta, Nelson, North Dakota, where they raised their seven children. Joseph was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aneta, a former member of the Sharon School Board, the Griggs County Fair Board, Lenora Township Board, and the Griggs County Library Board. Joseph died 5 Oct 2004 in the Cooperstown Medical Center - Hospital, Cooperstown, North Dakota. It is presumed that he is buried in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Aneta, North Dakota, along with his wife Catherine, who died in 2011. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
