Notes: Marion Agnes Haley was born 27 Jul 1869, probably in Fullarton Twp., Perth, Ontario. She was the third of twelve children of Abraham Haley and Marion Detwiller. She was known as Minnie. Her older brothers, Nicholas James and William Henry were also born in Ontario. Her father was a farmer, and in late 1870, when Minnie was only one year old, the family moved to Kansas, settling on a homestead in Logan Township, Ottawa County, eight miles northeast of Minneapolis. Their first home was a sod dugout, but her father later built a stone house.
Minnie's additional siblings were born in Kansas. These included Mary Rosa (Rose),
Hannah Maria (Hattie), Elizabeth Jane, Susan May, an unnamed infant, John Alexander,
Nettie Pauline, Ethel, and Abraham Earl. Hattie, Susan, John, and Abraham died
young. Minnie married Andrew Jackson Zuker about 1893, probably in Ottawa County, Kansas, their county of residence. They appear in the 1895 Kansas State census living in Garfield Township, Ottawa County. A young man, Joseph Stauffer was living in their household. Andrew was a farmer. By the 1900 U.S. census. they had been married eight years, and Minnie had no children yet. Their daughter Thelma was born 1 Jan 1902. Mary Detwiller Davis, Minnie's aunt, came to live with them in 1921, following the death of her sister. Their daughter Thelma married Alva Bremerman in 1924. In the 1930 U.S. census, their household included Mary Davis and Jack Bremerman, a hired hand. Mary died in 1931. Minnie died 9 Jul 1934, and is buried in the Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis, Kansas. Her husband Andrew died 16 Mar 1944, and is buried with next to her.
