Notes: Robert A. Miller (Bob) and Frances E. Smith (Fran) were married 1 Jun 1968 at
the Presbyterian Church in Tahoe City, California. Bob's mother, Evelyn
Miller, attended the wedding. Their best friends, Lorraine and Leland
Leete, stood up for them. During their marriage they lived in
several California communities, including Sacramento, San Leandro, and Castro
Valley. Both before and after retirement, Bob and Fran loved to travel. Fran was the one who took the many photographs documenting their trips. In 1969, they they visited Southern California, taking in such sights as Japenese Deer Park in Buena Park. In 1973, they visited friends in San Antonio, Texas, and Bob went fishing with George in Gakveston, Texas. Because Bob liked to fish, they bought a small boat. Photographs taken in 1978 included scenes at Lime Saddle Marina, Lake Oroville, Sly Lake and Park, and Discovery Park, all in Northern California. In September 1980, Bob and Fran traveled to Portland, Oregon, and to Banff, Canada. Besides fishing, Bob's other passion was golfing. There are photographs of him golfing in Banff. In 1980 and 1981, Bob and Fran attended the Miller family Christmas party at his sister's home in Mt. Baldy, California. In 1981, they also took a houseboat vacation with their close friends Lorraine and Leland Leete. In December 1982, they took a golfing vacation in Hawaii. They stayed at the Kahana Reef Condo, and Bob golfed at the Maui Country Club. Bob died 7 Jan 1984 in Sacramento, California. In 1987, Frances married Leland Leete. His wife had died 3 months after Bob. Frances died in 2000. | ||||||||||||||||||||
