Notes: Maurice G. Noble and Irene Nippolt were married some time in the early 1930's,
place unknown. They did not have any children. In the 1940 U.S. census,
Maurice and Irene were living at 1044 Coolidge Drive,
San Gabriel, Los Angeles,
California, their long time residence. It had a wonderful shady backyard,
where croquet was played on warm summer days. Living or visiting with the
couple was Elaine Nippolt, age 8, Irene's niece. Maurice was a supervisor in a
life insurance company. They owned their home, which was worth $5,000. |
The Alhambra, California, City Directories from 1939 through 1956 show Maurice
and Irene at their Coolidge Drive residence, shown at right.
In 1939 his occupation was listed as a clerk; by 1954 he was listed as being the
treasurer of the United Geophical Co., Pasadena. The Pasadena, California, City
Directory, 1958 lists his occupation as sec-treas of United Geophysical Corp &
United Electrodynamics, Pasadena. They were world travelers, including travel
to South America, due to his job as a geologist.
In 1950, Maurice and Irene were registered to vote as Republicans. They were
members of the First Presbyterian Church of Alhambra.
Maurice's last residence was in San Marino, Los Angeles, California. He died 8 Dec
1971 in Pasadena, California. Irene's last residence was in Alhambra. She
died 14 Feb 1981 in Alhambra, California. Both are buried in the
San Gabriel Cemetery, San Gabriel, California. |
