Notes: Francis (Frank) Walker Bishop married Cleo Thorpe on 25 Aug 1943 at the bride's residence in
Springville, Utah, Utah. The ceremony was performed by Bishop A.G. Peterson of the LDS church.
The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Douglas, Utah, on 7 Sep 1943. Sent to Europe, he landed on Omaha
Beach on 22 Jul 1944. He served as a medic and was wounded in combat. He was discharged at Fort
Douglas on 11 Dec 1945.
While Frank was in the service, his wife Cleo bought property at the mouth of Hobble Creek, on Canyon Road,
Springville. Here they raised eight children. Frank was employed by Johnson Tire Service, Springville,
for over 30 years. Both were active in the LDS church.
Frank died 10 May 1994 at his home in Springville, Utah, Utah. Cleo died 16 Nov 2010 in Springville.
They are buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah, Utah. |
