Andrew M. Detwiller died Feb. 8, 1937 Rite here Friday, Feb 12. Tyrol township resident is victim of Chronic heart ailment. A figure long prominent in Griggs Co. affairs, Andrew M. Detwiller, 56, died at his home in Tyrol on Monday of this week. Funeral services have been set for 1:00 Friday at the Masonic Temple in this city. Chronic heart trouble and after effects of several strokes was declared the cause of death. He had been ailing over a period of 3 years. ACTIVE IN LODGES Mr. Detwiller was active in two Cooperstown lodges. He was past master in the Northern Light Lodge No. 45, A.F. & A.M. and was also past chancellor commander of the Knights of Pythias lodge. For a number of years he was active in the Griggs county fair assn., serving for a time as director and as secretary. He was a member of the Tyrol board for a number of years and was township clerk. Two years ago he was the Democratic candidate for state senator from this district and was defeated only by a narrow margin. BORN IN CANADA Born June 28, 1881 at St. Mary's Ont. Can., he came with his parents to Griggs county in 1886 and has been a resident of Tyrol twp for 51 years. He was married to Isabel Beattie, also of Ont. Mar 25, 1903. Besides his widow, four children survive. They are Harold, of Wis., Ronald at home, Mrs. Elmer Smith of Winnebago, Mn., and Mrs. Ray Kent of Mont. Living brothers and sister include John, Fred, and Harry Detwiller and Mrs. R.H. Pratt. A.B. Detwiller is a cousin. Rev. C.C. Converse will officiate at the funeral. O.A.
