In September 1902, Myrtle's mother Ella died of
typhoid fever in Wallaceburg, Ontario. Myrtle's father Frank this brought his
children to California in late 1902. Myrtle was carried in a basket. During her childhood years, Myrtle was adopted and raised by the Cope family of Red Bluff, California. She lived in Red Bluff and Berkeley before moving to Napa to live with her older brother Wilfred in about 1915. The photo at the right shows Myrtle with her two daughters in 1922. The photo at the left shows Myrtle (at the left) in El Granada in 1947. Myrtle was a member of the Napa County Historical Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a former member of the Daughters of Pocahontas and a former member and president of the Eagles Auxiliary. Myrtle enjoyed her family and baking cookies. She died two days before her 92nd birthday at a Napa convalescent hospital after a brief illness. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
