Notes: David P. Williams was born about 1815/1816 in West Deer Twp., now Richland Twp., Allegheny,
Pennsylvania, He was the fifth of eleven children of the Rev. Matthew Williams and Elizabeth Parkhill.
In the 1820 USA census, his family was enumerated in Deer, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. At that time there
were seven children. Upon his father's death in 1828, David inherited 49 acres and 70 perches of land in what was then West Deer Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. On 3 Sep 1849, David's brother John quitclaimed and transferred 49 acres and 107 perches of land to David. This was recorded on 5 Oct 1852. In the 1840 USA census, Davids' family was enumerated in West Deer Twp., Allegheny, Pennsylvania, At this time there were seven children still at home. Two family members were "employed" in agriculture. At some time, David married Mary (last name unknown) who died, probably childless, in June 1847 at age 28. She is buried in the Pine Creek Cemetery, Allison Park, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. About 1849, David married Mary Ann McCaw. In the 1850 USA census, David, 34, and Mary Ann, 21, were living in West Deer Twp., Allegheny, Pennsylvania. David was a farmer, whose real estate was valued at $2,000. John Trimble, 13, was enumerated in the household. In the 1860 USA census, David P. Williams, 43, and Mary Ann, 30, were still on their farm in West Deer. Their children were James, 10, Thomas, 8, and Harmon, 8, and Lizzie 2. William Jones, 17, a laborer, was enumerated in the household. Their real estate was now valued at $7,000., and personal estate at $1,5000. In the 1870 USA cen, David Williams, 54, and Mary A., 40, were farming in what was now called the Richland Twp. Their children were James, 18, Thomas, 14, Harmon, 12, Elizabeth, 12, Theodore, 9, Anna, 7, Margaret, 5, David, 3, and Joseph 3 months. Their real estate was now valued at $14,000., and personal estate at $2,500. In the 1880 USA cen, David Williams, 64, and Mary A., 50, were farming in the Richland Twp. Their children at home Lizza J., 21, John T., 18, farm laborer, Anna M., 16, Margaret A., 13, David P., 12, farm laborer, Joseph D., 10, at school, and Gertrude E., 5. David was described as having a Fistula. David P. Williams died at age 67, on Sunday, 19 Mar 1882, near Bakerstown, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was held Tuesday, 21 Mar 1882 in the Pine Creek United Presbyterian Church.
