Notes: Otto John Martin, Jr., 23, and Leola Agnes Hancock, 20, were married in a quiet ceremony
in the Presbyterian Presbyterian parsonage in Santa Rosa, Sonoma. Otto was from Vallejo, and
Leola from Napa. They made their home in the City of Vallejo, Solano County during their 51½ years
of marriage.![]() ![]() ![]() In the 1940 U.S. census, Otto J., Jr., 30, and Leola, 28, were living at 1469 Alabama St., Vallejo. Otto was a machinist in government work, had completed 4 years of high school, and had earned $3,300. Leola had completed one year of college. They owned their home, valued at $3,500, and had one child, John, 6. Their daughter Caroline was born here. ![]() Otto retired from the "yard" in December 1964, allowing Otto and Leola to enjoy a more leisurely life style — until Otto's death in 20 Jan 1984 in Vallejo. Otto and Leola wanted everything simple and quiet when he passed, so there wasn't any kind of service or obituary. His ashes were scattered at sea. Leolo died 25 Jan 2003 in Vallejo, and her ashes were also scattered at sea. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
