Notes: Sometime during the 1920's Vernon and Lillian Carr moved to their fruit ranch in
Littlerock in the
Antelope Valley north of the San Gabriel Mountains. The address given variously
in the voter registration records were Sec 14, T5N, R10W, or Ave. U8, or
34125 N. 77th St. E. It was on the Pearblossom Highway. The orchards
included pears and peaches, and there was a packing shed. The grape arbor bore
grapes and provided shade in the summer heat.
In the 1930 USA census, Vernon A. Carr, 43, and his wife Lillian M. Carr, 42, were
living in Antelope, Los Angeles, California. They owned their fruit ranch
and had a radio set. Vernon was a fruit farmer. The children were
Evelyn M., 19, James E, 15, and Frank V., 11. James and Frank attended
school.
In the 1940 USA census, Vernon and Lillian's household included their daughter Evelyn,
her husband Willard Sinclair, and their 5 year old daughter. |
