Notes: In the 1925 North Dakota State census, A.T. Olson, 31, and Ethel Olson, 26, were
living in Tagus, Mountrail County, North Dakota. In the 1930 U.S. census,
Arthur T., 36, and Ethel, 31, were living in the village of Van Hook, Mountrail County.
Arthur was a bank cashier. They were caring for two boys, identified as
"lodgers, wards". These were Amber, 7, in school, and William R., 1.
In the 1940 U.S. census, Arthur, 46, and Ethel, 21, were living in the village of Sanish*,
Mountrail County. Arthur was a salesman, retail implements. Billy Rae, 11, was
now identified as their son (adopted). They were renting their house for $16. monthly,
and had been living in the same house in 1935. Arthur had completed 1 year of high school,
Ethel, 3 years of high school, and Billy R, third grade.
*In 1952, Sanish was dismantled timber and brick and dispersed to higher ground when the
Garrison Dam was erected, flooding this part of the Missouri River Valley. |
