Notes: In the 1930 U.S. census, Bert Findlay, 33, and his wife Fay Findlay, 29, both born
in Nevada, were living on County Road, Panaca, Lincoln, Nevada. Bert was a general farmer, and they
owned their home, valued at $1800. They did not have a radio set. Their children were
Clifford, 10, attending school, Vivian, 8, and Ellen M. 2. All of the children had been born in
Nevada. One child, Lee Walker Findlay had died young (18 Jan 1925 to 5 Feb 1926), and is buried in the
Panaca Memorial Park, Panaca, Nevada.
In the 1940 U.S. census*, Albert Findlay, 44, and Fay W., 39, were living on 4th Street, Panaca, Lincoln,
Nevada. This was the same house as in 1935, which they owned, valued at $800. Albert was a
farmer, and had completed 8th grade. Fay had completed three years of high school. Their
children were: Clifford O., 20, 4 years of high school, and a farmer; Vivian B., 18, 3 years of high
school and a new worker for N.Y.A.; Ellen M., 12, 6th grade; Jack R., 8, first grade; and Enid, 5.
When Albert registered for the World War II "old men's draft", their address was Panaca,
Lincoln, Nevada. He was self-employed.
*The 1940 U.S. census lists Albert as "Findlay Albert", and gives the entire family the surname of Albert.
