Notes: According to family sources, Victor Alvey was born 19 Jul 1915 in Escalante, Garfield,
Utah. [His Death Certificate states 10 Jul 1915 as his date of birth.] His parents were
George Alvey and Ann (Annie) Spencer. He married Juanita Barney
on 29 Mar 1936 in Piute, Utah, Utah. They were sealed in the St. George Temple on 3 Apr
1936.
In the 1940 U.S. Census, Victor Alvey, 24, and his wife Juanita Alvey, 21, were living on 3rd South,
Escalante, Garfield, Utah. They owned their residence, valued at $400. Victor was a coal
miner, and had completed four years of high school. Juanita had completed three years of high
school. They had two sons, Jerald V., 3 years, and Tommie Lynn, a baby. Later born sons
were Ron and Wallace.
The family made their home in Escalante, Mapleton, and Salem, Utah, eventually moving to Nampa,
Idaho. In theDeath Certificate of Victor Alvey, his occupations
were listed as "Railroad & Farming". Victor died after an accident on 14 Feb 1951
about 11 a.m. at his ranch home on East Power Line in Nampa, Canyon, Idaho. The cause was an
accident with tar and gasoline in which he was badly burned. He died 15 Feb 1951 in
Mercy Hospital, Nampa, Idaho. He was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah.
Juanita and their sons moved to Springville, Utah, where she married Ivan Felix in 1953.
