1937 where their first daughter was born. In the 1940 U.S. census, Bud W. Pate, 24,
and Norma Pate, 24, were living at 208½ Hilborn, Lodi, San Joaquin, California.
They were renting for $19. a month. Bud was a clerk in a retail grocery store, and
had completed 4 years of high school. Norma had completed 4 years of high school.
Their daughter Patricia Rae was 2.
The Lodi, California, City Directory from 1940 through 1943 lists them at
208 rear Hilborn, 417 S Washn, and 318 E. Lodi av. Bud was a clerk for Purity Stores
for two years, then became a welder. Their son Bud Duane was born in San Joaquin
County. They returned to Utah, where they made their residence in American Fork, Utah
