Notes: R. Christian (R.C.) and Bess were married 26 February 1920 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
A photograph of their wedding party is seen at right. They
had two daughters. Elizabeth was born 3 Jun 1921, and Margaret was born 9 Sep
1924, both in Perth Amboy. R.C. was a metallurogist and worked for
the Raritan Copper Works, later known as the Internation Smelting & Refining
Company.
About 1926, they moved to Metuchen, Middlesex, New Jersey.
Their long term residence was 60 Woodbridge Avenue, Metuchen, New Jersey. In 1940,
they owned their home, valued at $9.000., and R.C. had earned $3,000 in 1939.
They were members of Grace Lutheran Church.
In November 1959, R.C. and Bess traveled to Florida for the first time,
along with cousin Dorothy and her husband Louis
Wittnebert.
R.C. died 22 May 1961 in Metuchen, and Bess died
14 Mar 1991 in Union County, New Jersey. Both are buried in the
Old Tennent Churchyard Cemetery, Tennent, New Jersey,
seen at right. |
