Notes: Albert Campbell married Nettie Pauline Haley on 11 Dec 1902, in Cooperstown, Griggs,
North Dakota. Their only son, Cecil Kenneth, was born 13 Mar 1904, in Minneapolis,
Ottawa, Kansas. This was the hometown of Nettie, and it is unexplained why their
son was born in Kansas, not North Dakota. The family is found in both the U.S.
and North Dakota census records from 1910 through 1925. The 1910 Tyrol Twp.
map shows Albert owning 2 adjacent quarter sections,
consisting of 320 acres. [SW ¼, Sec 14, and NW ¼, Sec. 23] Albert
was a grain farmer.
In 1914, the Campbell's farmhouse burned down, and Albert built a modern house with
Delco lights and plumbing. Albert was murdered by a shotgun on 25 Oct 1929 by a
neighbor named John Slabber. He was buried in the
Cooperstown Cemetery, Cooperstown, North Dakota. Nettie died 10 Jan 1945,
after suffering a heart attack. She is buried in the Cooperstown Cemetery with
her husband. |
