Notes: Bud W. Pate, 20, married Norma Stewart, 20, on 15 Apr 1935 in Holden, Millard,
Utah. By 1937, they were living in Los Angeles County, California where their first
daughter was born. In the 1940 U.S. census, Bud W. Pate, 24, and Norma Pate, 24, were
living at 208½ Hilborn, Lodi, San Joaquin, California. They were renting for $19.
a month. Bud was a clerk in a retail grocery store; they both had completed 4 years of
high school. Their daughter Patricia Rae was 2.
The Lodi, California, City Directory from 1940 through 1943 lists them at
208 rear Hilborn, 417 S Washn, and 318 E. Lodi av. Bud was a clerk for Purity Stores
for two years, then became a welder. Their son Bud Duane was born in San Joaquin
County. They returned to Utah, where they made their residence in American Fork, Utah
County. Three more children were born in this marriage, Kay Lynn, Cynthia Sue,
and Julianne.
In January 1959, Bud and Norma were divorced, and Norma was granted custody of the minor
children. Bud made his home in Orem, and Norma made her home in American Fork.
Bud married Lorna Marie Morrow in Sep 1963 and died 14 Sep 1974 in American Fork, Utah.
Norma died 9 Feb 2004 in Lehi, Utah, Utah. They share a headstone in the American
Fork Cemetery, American Fork, Utah, Utah. |
