Lyle Stewart Lyle George Stewart 1919 ~ 2010 Lyle George Stewart, 90, of Pleasant Grove passed away suddenly, Thursday, August 19, 2010. Lyle was born November 27, 1919 in Hinckley, Utah to George Lyle and Clara May Walker Stewart. He married Betty Jensen and together had two children. They were later divorced. He married Veatrice Carrel in 1963. Lyle grew up in Hinckley and graduated from Hinckley High School in 1937. He attended Cedar College in Cedar City for two years. He joined the Utah National Guard and later served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Lyle worked at Geneva Steel for over 30 years as a millwright. He was generous and loved helping his family and neighbors. He enjoyed his garden and being in his yard, including the day he passed. He is survived by his two children: David Stewart, Phoenix; Martha (Tim) Hadden, Bountiful; three grandchildren: Cory, Coedy, and Abbey; four great-grandchildren; siblings: Florence Smith, Mary Abbott, Melba Jean Caldwell, Reed Stewart, Joy Christensen, Duane Stewart, and Don Stewart. Preceded in death by his wife Veatrice and three siblings. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Battle Creek First Ward Chapel, 1250 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove where friends may attend and viewing one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Timpanogos Memorial Gardens under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 72. |
