She was the daughter of Hiram and Mary Jackson, and was married on November 20, 1860, to John McFarren. To this union were born ten children — Louisa E., deceased June 7, 1910; Harriet L., Franklin G., Benjamin L., Della M., Phoebe J., William H., Edward W., Exmore L. and Theodore. Mrs. Della M. Williams, William H. McFarren and Exmore L. McFarren are residents of Holtville. In 1864 the family moved to Northern Missouri, then to Nebraska, later back to Southern Missouri, and a few years later to Arkansas; from Arkansas to Okhahoma, and two years ago this month came to California, settling at Holtville. Mrs. McFarren joined the Christian church about thirty years ago while living in Nebraska, and lived a good Christian life until death. On account of failing health she had not attended church for several years. Mr. and Mrs. Mc Farren lived happily together for more that fifty-seven years. | ||
