in Buckeye Twp., Ottawa, Kansas. Fred was a general farmer, and they owned their own farm.
In the 1925 Kansas State census, Fred, 29, and Ida, 29, had two daughters, Mary, 4, and Helen, 2.
In the 1930 U.S. census, Fred was 34, Ida 34, and their daughters Mary, 9, and Helen, 7. The
value of the farm was $9,505. and the family owned a radio. In the 1940 U.S. census, Fred, 44,
had had one year of high school, and Ida, 44, four years of high school. Mary, 17, had completed,
high school, and Helen, had two years. The family had added two more children. These were
Dale, 9, with three years of school, and a daughter, 4 years old. |
