In the 1900 U.S. census, they were living at 164 Wright Street, Newark, Essex,
New Jersey, with their
daughter Evelyn. Their son Wilfred had been sent to grow up with his
grandparents, Daniel and Evelena Baldwin in the Verona Twp., Essex.
In the 1910 U.S. census, Leslie, Frances, and Evelyn were living in Rahway,
Union, New Jersey.
Wilfred was still living with his grandparents. In 1918, when Leslie
registered for the draft, he, Frances, and Evelyn, were living at 228 Rector
Street, Perth Amboy, Middlesex, New Jersey. Evelyn married in 1919, and in
1920 was living with her husband and infant son in Perth Amboy.
In the 1920 U.S.census, Leslie and son Wilfred were both lodgers in Brooklyn, Kings,
New York.
Frances was a boarder with a Charles and Mary Gregg in Perth Amboy. In the 1930
U.S. census, Frances was living in Plainfield, Union, New Jersey, with son Wilfred.
*In later years Leslie became known as George L. Baldwin. The last year
documented that the couple was living together was 1918. However,
there are photographs of the "Baldwin home", and photographs of them together in
the 1940's. In later years, they lived separately and apart, with Leslie living
with a girlfriend. They never divorced, and the marriage ended with the death of
Leslie on 23 Jan 1954 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York.
