Notes: Benjamin Vern Bullock and Clara Peterson were married on 24 Nov 1934 in American Forks,
Utah, Utah.* They did not announce their marriage until February of 1935, at which time a series
of bridal showers feted the couple. The Provo, Utah, City Directories list various Provo addresses for the couple through the years. In 1935, shortly after their marriage, they are listed living with his parents at 470 N 1st East, Provo. In the 1940 U.S. census, B. Vern and his wife Clara were living at 96 W Tenth North, Provo. B. Vern was an insulator at a rock works company. They owned their house with a value of $1,500. They had two sons, B. Neil, 4, and K. Hart, 3. They had two more children in the following years. The Provo, Utah, City Directories in 1941 through 1946 list the couple at 100 W 10th North. In 1950 through 1959 they are listed at 100 W 960 North, Provo. B. Vern Bullock spent his life time working in Utah's mining coal industry, and was president of several mining and oil companies. Clara was a stenographer and in later years was a receptionist for Brigham Young University. Both B. Vern and Clara were active in the LDS Church. Together they were active in the Provo the Lions Club and Lady Lions, the Good Sam Trailduster Club, enjoying their travels, and in the Provo Promenaders Square Club. Clara died 10 Oct 1987. B. Vern died 11 May 1993. They are buried in the Provo City Cemetery. *The family reports and celebrates the marriage date of 24 Nov 1934. The Utah, County Marriages index reports a date of 16 Feb 1935, Utah County. The November date is reported in The Daily Herald on 19 Feb 1935. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
