"Mrs. Clara Stewart, returned from a
10-day visit to Calif. She made the trip with her son,
Duane, wife and family
of Provo. They spent 1 day in Los Angeles where Marcia's brother was being
married to a Los Angeles girl. They visited the Vandenberg Missile Base, Lompoc,
with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith (

ever fired. It was real frightening to be so close, hear the countdown and
experience all the noise and tremor of so large a missle being fired, Clara
says. They spent three days with son Don and Elizabeth in Hawthorne, then
on to Long Beach to see Mr. and Mrs. Gil Caldwell
(Jean Stewart) and family; then on to LaHabra to visit
with Mr. and Mrs. Dee Arthur (Delna)
who is teaching school in the Orange School District. They also
visited two granddaughters who are married and have families, Carol Lee Miller
of Orange and Pat Pate Fox and family of Torrence."

- "Bogged down"
"On July 13, 1993, I contacted Supervisor Barbara Riordan
concerning a problem in Lake Arrowhead, where a large multimillion-dollar time-share
development (Arrowhead Capital Partners) has been allowed to channel storm water down
onto adjoining property owners without proper drainage. Consequently, the primary
access to my property is now nearly impassable due to debris and mud deposits.
So far, I have received only a weak response through Riordan's
field deputy and the Department of Build and Safety without any real concrete
solution. I am now left with serious doubts concerning why Building and
Safety failed to protect and serve the small property owner.
