PIONEER RESIDENT DIES AT AGE OF 89
Hans Olson, Native Of Norway, Alhanbran for 38 Years Is Dead
      ALHAMBRA, Jan 23  — The grim reaper has been calling many of Alhambra's pioneers, and the last one to hear the call was Hans Olson of North Wilson avenue, who passed away at his home Sunday.  The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Turner, Stevens & Turner parlors under the auspices of the Alhambra Masonic lodge, Rev. S. J. Kennedy conducting them.  Internment was made in San Gabriel cemetery.
      Mr. Olson was 89 years of age, coming to the United States from Norway when he was only 18.  He made the trip across the plains to California in 1853 and settled in the southern part of the state.  He had lived in Alhambra for 38 years.
      He was one of the first to be made a member of the Masonic lodge of this city after the charter was drawn.
      He leaves his wife, Mary, two daughters and two sons of Alhambra, Mrs. T. J. Ferrell and Mrs. Arthur Lawyer, Frank and Henry Olson, Mrs. Vernon Carr of Covina and George Olson of Rittsville, Wash.
