(Napa, California) Mon. 12 Aug 1974, p. 6, col.2. Wilfred Hancock Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Treadway and Wigger Funeral Chapel for Wilfred Charles Hancock, 81, who died Friday at a local hospital. A native of Canada, Mr. Hancock received his early schooling in Ontario and finished up in Sonoma schools. He came to Napa in 1904 and worked for Earl Wilson until the business dissolved just prior to World War II. He married Nora A. Samuels on Aug 8, 1911, in San Francisco. During the war he was employed by Kaiser Industries and continued with them until his retirement in mid 1960s. He was a member of the International Order of the Oddfellows chapter 18 and the Electricians Union. Mr. Hancock is survived by his wife Nora, of Napa; three daughters, Leona Martin of Vallejo, Bee Lacaze of Napa and Ruth A. Gattavara of Suisun City; a son Warren Hancock of San Lorenzo; four sisters,Myrtle Glos of Napa, Ethel Harrison of Hillsboro, Ore., Alice Phelps of Soquel and Gertrude Neilsen of Burlingame; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Rev. Charles F. Knipe of the First Presbyterian of Napa will officiate with participation from the 100F Chapter 18. Entombment will take place in Tulocay cemetery. | ||||
