Notes: In the 1910 U.S. census, Niels A. Peterson, 32, and his wife Anne Peterson, 32,
were living in a rented house at 344 Fourth North, Salt Lake City Ward 3, Salt Lake, Utah. Niels was
a carpenter, doing odd jobs. They had been married 9 years. Their children were Carl A.,
8, Verda, 6, Laurence, 4, and Leone, 2.
According to family records and newspaper articles, the family spent most of their early years in
Eureka, Juab, Utah. In September 1918 when Niels, 40, registered for the World War I draft,
the family was living in Eureka, and Niels was a miner.
According to family records, their first two children, Karl Alma and Verda, were born in Hinckley, Millard,
Utah, and the next six, Laurence, Francis Leon, Clara, Owen Rumel, Zella, and Vernon LeRoy, were born in
Eureka. The family moved to Provo, Utah, Utah in 1918, where their last child Elayne was born.
