Notes: Niels Alma Peterson and his wife Annie moved to Provo, Utah, Utah in 1918, where they
lived for the rest of their lives at various addresses.
In the 1920 U.S. census, Niels A. Peterson, 41, and Annie Peterson, 41, were living at 358 West 4th Street
South, Provo Ward 2, Utah, Utah. They owned their house with a mortgage, and Niels was an
engineer for the railroad. Their children were Karl, 18, Verda, 16, Laurence, 14, Leone, 12,
Clara, 9, Owen, 7, Zella, 5, and Vernon, 2. All but the youngest two attended school.
In the 1929 Provo City Directory and the 1930 U.S. census, Niels A. Peterson, 52, and Annie Peterson,
52, were still at 358 West 4th Street South,
Provo. They owned their house, valued at $3,000. and owned a radio set. Niels was a solicitor
for a correspondence school. The children at home were Lawrence, 24, solicitor for a correspondence
school, Clara, 19, stenographer for a wholesale warehouse, Owen, 17, Zella, 14, Vernon, 12, and
Elaine, 9. The youngest four attended school.
In a letter to the editor of The Daily Herald on 5 Oct 1938, N. Alma Peterson listed his address as
376 N. 1 E., Provo.
In the 1940 U.S. census, N. Alma Peterson, 62, and Annie W. Peterson, 62, were living at 444 N. First West,
Provo. Alma had completed one year of college, and Annie two years of college. Neither were
employed. The children at home were Owen, 28, one year of high school and a laborer for the mines;
Vernon, 23, two years of college and a laborer for the railroad; and Elayne, 19, four years of high school
and a stenographer for the county.
In a 13 Dec 1953 newspaper article, N. Alma Peterson's address is 1010 N. 1st W., Provo. The 1955
Provo, Utah City Directory, lists Niels A. Peterson and his wife Annie W. Peterson at 1010 N. 100 W.
Street. In 1960 when they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary they were residing with a daughter
at 100 W. 960 N., Provo. Their final residence was at 990 N. 100 W., Provo. |
