Obituary - Nicholas Haley Nicholas Haley was born in Ontario, Canada, August 7, 1865. He came to Kansas with his parents when five years of age, and moved to Minneapolis August 1, 1909. He was a man of retired disposition, and although he never married, he was a home lover, well content to live quietly with his mother and help to look after her interests. Mr. Haley was a man who thought much, and was well read on the current events. He was a member of the Odd Fellow and Rebekah lodges and was highly respected by each. He became a victim of the influenza and passed away Dec. 6, 1918, at the age of fifty-three years, three months and twenty-nine days. Mr. Haley leaves to mourn for him, his mother, Mrs. Marion Haley, and five sisters. They are: Mrs. Rosa LaPlant and Mrs. Nettie Campbell of North Dakota, Mrs. Lizzie Smith of Delphos, Kans., Mrs. Ethel Smith and Mrs. Minnie Zuker of Minneapolis. In addition to these he leaves a host of other relatives and friends. A short funeral service was conducted at the grave at four o'clock on Dec. 6, in charge of Rev. L.E. Cook. The pall bearers were chosen from members of the Odd Fellow lodge. Interment was made in the Highland cemetery. |
