ABRAHAM HALEY" "Marion Detwiller was born in Waterloo, Canada, September 19, 1945, and died at Minneapolis, Kansas, September 26, 1920, just a few days after passing her 75th birthday. She was married to Abraham Haley April 4, 1864. In 1870 they came to Kansas and settled on a farm eight miles northeast of Minneapolis, where they lived until ten years ago when they came to reside in Minneapolis. Mr. Haley died five years ago. Twelve children were born to this family, five of whom are still living: Mrs. Andrew Zuker of Minneapolis; Mrs. Rosa LaPlant and Mrs. Nettie Campbell of Cooperstown, N.D.; Mrs. Horace Smith of Delphos and Mrs. Oscar Smith of Minneapolis. There are sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild, also one sister of the deceased, Mrs. Mary Davis of Minneapolis. Mrs. Haley had been a member of the Lutheran church for many years. She was also a member of the W.C.T.U. and the S. and D. of R. Her life was a long and helpful one. She was a good neighbor and a kind friend to all who shared her acquaintance, ever ready to help in time of sickness and to do what she could to relieve the need of others. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon, Sept. 30, at 2 o'clock, . . . by Rev. J.M.Mahaffy." | ||||
