- "BOYS ON RAMPAGE WITH AIR RIFLES TAKEN INTO CUSTODY"
"SPRINGVILLE - Two local boys, 8 and 9 years of age were turned
over to the juvenile officers Friday, following a "good time" with two newly purchased
air rifles and a package of B.B. shot.
The boys, according to Marshal L.S. Haymond, admitted taking money
from their mother's purse to purchase the guns, which they procured at a local store.
They ten proceeded to shoot the windows from the Washington school building. When they
had broken the glass in nine windows, they turned their guns on
Ivan Felix, a chance passerby, who received a full charge in the back.
After having several shot taken from his back, Felix reported the incident and the boys
admitted breaking the windows and told of purchasing their new guns."
